The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has a huge presence in Utah. Salt Lake temple square offers free museums with historical info about the area, exhibits on humanitarian projects, free concerts (the daily organ ones are amazing and free). A great place to roam around and look at free exhibits.
Questions about Mormons or the history of the church and Utah? This is a great place to learn about the predominant religous culture. The Temple is also surounded by beautiful gardens that are wonderful to wander around in almost any time of the year.
