Matsuchiyama Shoden Honryuin is one of the constituent temples of Sensoji. It belongs to Sho-Kannon Sect which is a branch of the Tendai Sect of Buddhism. Although being a temple,a framed plaque bearing the title “Shoten -Gu" meaning Shoten Shrine can be found in the front of the Main Hall,showing the close connection between Buddhist and Shinto faiths which is still alive today.
