Permanent and changing exhibits at the Dassel History Center are housed in the historic Universal Laboratories building, built in 1937. The ULB is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2006, it was named one of the top 25 preservation projects in Minnesota by the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota. It was selected from 1500 museums on the National Register. Two of the permanent exhibits tell stories of global significance, Ergot: From Blight to Blessing and Dassel Seed Corn Story: Planting the Seed.
