The historic Bad Little Falls Park is one that we seem to think is so underrated! Every time we visit, the roaring waterfalls never fail to take our breath away! Bring a lunch, sit down at the picnic tables, & listen to the falls while watching the birds swoop for fish.
Cute little park in the center of Machias. Just across the street from the back of the park is the Machias Grange Hall, where the Beehive Collective hosts open mics and other fun events.
Bad Little Falls Park is in the town of Machias. Interestingly, and coincidentally, 'Machias' is a Wabanaki word that means “bad little falls”. Below the falls, is an estuary area that is visited by eagles, osprey, sea and shore birds, seals, and migratory fish, including endangered Atlantic salmon.
