Indian Rock Park

Only locals in Berkeley know this sick spot, where boulders the size of four-story houses sit high atop the Berkeley Hills and provide panoramic views of the entire Bay. It’s not much of a hike up the boulders—probably only about a half mile—but it’s crazy because it’s just this bustling park right in the middle of multimillion-dollar homes. There’s also outdoor rock climbing, and an interesting history of Native Americans using this place as a ceremonial ground.

Great views. The Berkeley Bitty House is very close to Indian Rock Park, just a few minutes walk. It's a great destination when you’re on a morning walk with your coffee. Rock climbers practice here, and visitors love to climb the carved steps up to the top for a view of the bay.
Come anytime for views across the bay (bring a flashlight at night). A small climb. Locals also use the side of the rock for bouldering, in case you like rock climbing.
