The original Penlee Lifeboat House is on the road from Newlyn to Mousehole, it is the station from which the ill fated Solomon Browne launched on 19 December 1981. The Station can only be viewed from the roadside or its memorial garden but it is worth stopping as a point of interest if you are passing, it is left as it was on the night 37 years ago, boots and various equipment still left in situ.
