The original Dog Beach is nationally famous and one of the first official leash-free beaches in the United States. It is a landmark in the community of Ocean Beach at the mouth of the San Diego River. Dog Beach is a special place where people and pets, beach lovers and surfers celebrate the spirit of OB.

If you love dogs, this is a fun place to go to see every breed imaginable running and playing in the sand and the ocean. Beach area on the other side of peir for humans who don't want a dog running up to say hello. Nice beach, easy parking and access. Lots of laughter and smiles for all if you love those darling furry friends. Owners are very good about picking up after their dogs so its very clean.
