No entry fees, pleasant place for a picnic as well as housing the artefacts of our traditional owners, the Gamilaraay people. Quiet place to stroll or even visit the nursery to buy plants. There are train rides available for the kids at Victoria Park and the Men's Shed is nearby. No food or coffee services.
A lovely set up of gardens from around the world to walk through. The 3rd Sunday of every month they have the Miniature Trains which is a wonderful experience for kids big and small. Adults and children are $2
The garden was established in 1995 by Tamworth Regional Council with over 28 hectares of gardens occupying parts of Victoria and Oxley Parks. The Tamworth Regional Botanic Garden is supported by an active community group – the Friends of the Botanic Garden. The garden is a display but also aims to conserve the flora of the region. There’s a lot to see while you are there, including the excellent lookout, the bush chapel, native gardens surrounding the ponds, and the new Asian garden. The gardens also feature an indoor exhibition space with Aboriginal artefacts. There are walking tracks, picnic areas, toilets and the park is wheelchair accessible.
