**DOG FRIENDLY** Although there are steep steps to negotiate this beach is worth visiting at low tide as there is lots to explore; caves, rock pools and dry sand for sheltered sun bathing if the wind is blowing off shore.
Our favourite beach, despite the steps. no amenities just beautiful ocean. This beach is our local surf break. Surfable 2 hours either side of low tide. Be careful with current etc as not lifeguarded.
Possibly the best and leas well known of Newquay beaches, it's a challenge to get to but well worth it. at low tide there are lots of caves, rock pools, and incredible views, great surf and a bit of isolation from the crowds. the steps down are VERY steep, there are NO lifeguards, and there have been recent rockfalls. Porth island is well worth a walk to... 👌

After Porth, but before Watergate Bay. Lesser known and for that reason more of a locals secret. Access by steps.
Local beach about 2 miles away. Easy to park in a residential street opposite. Very very steep steps to get down to the beach ( although my 6 & 10 year old are fine) Stunning cove, secluded. Nothing else there so take supplies. Great beach day away from the tourists. No life guards!
