Beautiful place to visit just before or during the spring, when it's full of flowers. interesting to check the architecture and the history of the local, there's also a museum to visit. The swans in front are an extra show! Make sure you don't eet in the café's around it because they normally charge huge touristic prices. Open every day from 6:30 till 18:30
Founded in 1245 by the Countess of Fland. This is where a group of women that lived like nuns although didn't make the same vows, lived. Today the small 'town' is a series of houses that is serene.

This little piece of world heritage was once the home of the beguines, emancipated lay-women who nevertheless led a pious and celibate life. Nowadays, the Beguinage is inhabited by the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict. In the small beguine house, you can still gain insights into what daily life was like in the 17th century. Please note: the entrance gates are always closed (and remain closed) at 6.30 p.m.
