Father Pandosy and Father Richard established the Immaculate Conception Mission in 1859, the first permanent non-native settlement in the interior of BC. The Fathers developed their mission into an important religious, social and cultural center. It is on the Kelowna Heritage Register and is a Provincial Heritage Site. There is a caretaker on site and the grounds are open to the public for self guided tours (with interpretive displays) from dawn to dusk, Easter to Thanksgiving. A donation of $2 per person admission is suggested; this goes towards site maintenance and upkeep. The site is not dog-friendly, so please do not bring your pets on the grounds.
