The Tercero del Sur, known at the time of the city's founding as Zanjón de Granados, was a stream that ran from today's Plaza Constitución towards the Río de la Plata estuary via Pasaje San Lorenzo. In the 1980s, the current owner of this site accidentally stumbled across an incredible archaeological find: while working to restore the Italian-style house, whose patios and facades date to the first half of the 20th century, he found the foundations of an 18th century colonial era home, which are now on display and can be visited with a guided tour.
