Point Wilson marks the western side of the entrance to Admiralty Inlet from the Strait of Juan de Fuca and is an important landmark for vessels traveling to and from Puget Sound.
Point Wilson Light (built in 1879) is still an active aid to navigation today. Located in Fort Worden State Park near Port Townsend. You can actually stay at the lighthouse. The historic Chief's house is available as a vacation rental. Proceeds from rentals benefit on-going preservation and restoration work.
