Pisgah National Forest is one of the true treasures of Western North Carolina. Over 500,000 acres of protected mountain forest, with waterfalls, hiking trails, rivers and campgrounds. Ideal for outdoor recreation. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs directly through the forest, making it an excellent place for scenic driving as well. Dupont is closer to Casa Kanuga, but Pisgah offers larger wilderness better suited to backpacking, campgrounds and spectacular views.

The visitor center to the Pisgah National Forest is a great place to begin your exploration of the waterfalls, hiking trails, biking trails, and trout streams of the Pisgah Forest.
Andy Cove Nature Trail starts in the parking lot of the Visitor Center. It's a 0.7 mi loop that includes a suspended bridge. There's also a little creek near the end of the hike. Super fun for little kids!
Check out sliding rock, cradle of forestry, tons of hiking trails and scenic overlooks. Go through the park and catch the Blue Ridge Parkway for beautiful views.
