Arboretum is a residential area of the City of Nottingham in the county of Nottinghamshire, England. The arboretum from which the neighbourhood takes its name was the first designated public park in Nottingham selected under the authority of the Inclosure Act 1845.
A lovely park next to NTU, the park has around 800 trees of various species, some of which were planted in the 19th century. There’s a pond full of cute ducks and their ducklings by the main gate. If you enjoy sitting on a wooden bench facing the pond and watching them swim, dive, bob and quack, then this park is must visit.
Literally just around the corner is The Arboretum, just five minutes’ walk. This was the first public park in Nottingham and it is still quite a popular attraction, alongside the botanical gardens there is a bird sanctuary. Another fine place to spend a summer’s day.
