Beaches 1 - 4 up near Kalaloch are unique and worth the roughly 45-minute drive up the coast. Note, you can't just drive up Hwy 109, you have to take 109, to the Moclips Hwy and then take Hwy 101 North. The Kalaloch Lodge offers the only restaurant up that way and it's just barely acceptable for service and quality, but the kids won't notice that.... And the view from the restaurant is fantastic. Maybe stick to the fish and chips and clam chowder.

If you're down on the Pacific Coast by Ruby Beach and the Hoh Rain Forest turn-off, consider stopping at the Kalaloch Lodge for lunch or dinner. Open year-round and a very scenic walk to the beach. You can also see the Tree of Life at the Kalaloch Campground just a minute down the road.
Kalaloch means "good place to land" in the Quinalt language. This beach was a safe landing place between the Quinalt and Hoh Rivers. Enjoy a walk on the beach with the family or eat in the lodge for some tasty treats!
