Climb the broad staircase leading to the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II and you will arrive on Capitol Square. Designed by Michelangelo himself, it was formerly the political and religious heart of Rome.
Beautiful, especially at night if you go at the end of the Piazza on the right side and you overlook the Roman Forums by night. Very romantic and unique ;-)
Square located on the homonymous hill, one of the seven on which Rome was built. It is home to an important Roman archaeological museum and symbol of the administrative power of the city from ancient Rome to today. The design of the square was built in the late Renaissance by Michelangelo and in the middle of it was placed the ancient statue of the emperor philosopher Marcus Aurelius.
