"Winner Creek Trail is a 6.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Girdwood, Alaska that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from January until October. The first portion of the trail is maintained for WHEELCHAIR access. There is a hand tram along the trail that is not open during winter. Please note: as of 08/05/19, hikers have reported that the hand pull tram bridge is closed for maintenance." (Alltrails Website)

A short, well maintained and easy hike but still one of my favorites. The hand tram was down the last time I hiked it, but when operational it is really cool.
A beautiful hike/ walk to waterfalls and a large suspended hand tram over a gorge.
If you decide to make the drive along Turnagain Arm to see the lovely little town of Girdwood, I highly recommend Winner Creek Trail. You'll meander along a mostly flat path through tall, mossy trees, lush fern undergrowth, and marvel at the gorge with glacier water rushing under you. Definitely walk all the way to the handtram and pull yourself across!
