Chilham makes an interesting afternoon outing. The village centre is very pretty and the castle is sometimes open. This year the castle is Shakespeare with The Globe open air theatre summer season

The beautiful village of Chilham boasts Chilham Castle the grounds of which were designed by Capability Brown and which are open in the summer season every Tuesday. The village is often used for filming TV dramas e.g. Poiroit, Foyles War. Shelley's Tea Room provides a delicious Afternoon Tea together with a delightful shop all in a period setting. Together with two lovely pubs, The White Horse and the Woolpack Inn.

Lovely grounds in chocolate-box Chilham. Gardens open to the public - recommend a picnic by the lake. Also have a wander round the village - several watering holes
