A Norfolk Cultural Landmark for over 75 years, the giant red velvet screen curtains still open and close with each presentation, and the now antique reel-to-reel projectors are still in the booth, just in case an occasion comes along to show a print-film.
This is an independent movie theatre that hosts, indie films and documentaries often unavailable elsewhere. It also hosts talkbacks, Q and A sessions, cult classics, and more.
Vintage theater showing classic, artsy and foreign films. You can even order a little baklava to munch while you watch. On Mondays in the summer they host the Mal Vincent Summer Film Festival, where Mal Vincent speaks before and after the film to tell us about his experiences interviewing the greats, like Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Clark Gable, etc. Get there early, there are long lines but everyone usually gets in.
