A real peace of history and a true legend of world war I and II. Named after Georgios Averoff, the benefactor who paid for it, the armored cruiser was launched in 1910 and served the Royal Hellenic Navy in the Balkan wars and both world wars; it became a museum in 1984.
I f you are a military enthusiast then you have to go here. it is open (FYI during the week until 14:00). Small but impressive, with amazing history. Not too much to see, but it gives an indication of living on such a ship.

The beautiful marina of Floisvos, at Palaio Faliro, is an ideal place for a walk and relaxing next to the sea. On its edge, next to the modern luxurious boats and some characteristic old ships, one can admire one of the most glorious ships in modern Greek history, the legendary battleship “Georgios Averoff”, which took part in great naval battles during the Balkan Wars, and remained active until the World War II. Nowadays, it functions as a museum and at its interior are preserved, among other, the cabins of the captain and the officers, the sailors’ quarters, the chapel of Agios Nikolaos and the kitchens.
