Founded in 1935, this narrow store sells a variety of tasty and cute Japanese sweets, including some in the shape of animals. They are famous for their ukigumo treat—which translates to “floating cloud”—a baked, flaky good with meringue in the middle. The staff is very friendly, so talking with them makes you want to come back again and again. The side streets surrounding the store are very charming and old fashioned, and great to walk down while eating your sweet. That said, I usually take visitors to nearby Shirogane Park to eat in its lovely natural setting.
