Hibou is just a short drive from downtown Owen Sound along 2nd Avenue East. The water is nice and shallow, excellent for children, and this park has an excellent, fully accessible new play structure for children. Good for picnics, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing too. The sand is also good for sand castle building.
A 3 minute walk from the cottage, this park has a great beach and playground for kids. Beautiful and easy walking trails are across the road in the forested part of the conservation area. See beavers and boardwalks but be careful of poison ivy in the area.
While there are many great beaches in the area, this is my personal favourite! With Georgian Bay being well known for its chilly waters, I find it tends to be a little bit warmer down here. It is not usually quite as busy, as it is a bit of the beaten path.
Trails and Beach for the kids. Nice sandy beach and a perfect spot for a family picnic. A hidden gem.
