It’s said that Trajan’s Market, built around 100 A.D., is the world’s first covered shopping mall. A prominent landmark and a symbol of imperial power since 113 C.E., Trajan’s Column in Rome was a focal point of the great forum and market complex built by Emperor Trajan on the north side of the Roman Forum.
