Uhlelo Lwabalingani be-Airbnb
Note: The Airbnb associates program ended on March 31, 2021. We encourage Airbnb associates to remove all active Airbnb associate links on their sites.
The Airbnb Associates program allows anyone with an audience to make money by promoting traveling or hosting on Airbnb.
Airbnb associates guidelines
All associates should keep these guidelines in mind:
- Be transparent about your relationship with Airbnb.
- When you share content promoting the benefits of hosting on Airbnb, include a clear disclosure such as, “As an Airbnb Associate, I earn after you start hosting through this link.”
- When you share content promoting an Airbnb stay or experience, include a clear disclosure such as, “As an Airbnb Associate, I earn when you book through this link.”
- Associates are not Airbnb employees and do not work under the direction of Airbnb employees. Never represent yourself as an agent or employee of Airbnb.
- By posting content on Airbnb, you agree to abide by our content policy.
- Don’t remove Airbnb’s branding from the program tools. Don’t use any other Airbnb trademarks or copyrighted materials.
- Don’t hide links, widgets, or pages. Only share program content directly to your followers on your personal sites or social media.
- Don’t run paid advertisements in print or digital format. Don’t bid on Airbnb keywords or arbitrage Airbnb’s global audience.
- Don’t book through your own links. You won’t receive a payout for your own listings.
Read the program’s full terms and conditions, and learn more about how our standards and expectations are enforced. We reserve the right to disable your account if you misuse the product.
Tools available to Airbnb associates
We provide Associates with tools to help customize their content—including social posts, videos, newsletters, and webpages—to share with their audience. Here’s what’s available:
- Referral links: Embed unique links leading to Airbnb stays, experiences, or hosting pages
- Widgets: Embed visual or interactive Airbnb stay or experience content
- Landing pages: Create a stays- or experience-focused page on Airbnb to share
Payments and payouts
Notice: The Airbnb associates program ended on March 31, 2021.
- For bookings made before this date, payouts will be sent on the regular monthly schedule, once the guests have checked out.
- For bookings made after this date, Airbnb associates will no longer receive commissions through the program.
If you’re referring stays and experiences

Every time someone booked an experience (online or in person) through your content before March 31, 2021, you’ll be paid 25% of the Airbnb host fee.
Airbnb service fees are a percentage of our guest and host fees for each booking. You’ll be paid in your preferred currency after conversion.
How you make money:
- Someone clicked on your content and within 28 days booked a stay before March 31, 2021
- Someone clicked on your content and within 14 days booked an experience before March 31, 2021
- Your percentage of the fee will appear in your Associate account once their trip ends
- Payouts typically happen between the 10th and 20th of the month after a completed reservation, and you'll receive an email with payout details each month
If you’re referring hosts
As an Associate referring hosts and listings, you’ll get paid every time someone books an initial stay at a listing your content has inspired. You’ll earn a variable amount no less than $40 for each new listing, depending on its geography, that is booked within the first 365 days of being listed. Hosts have 28 days from clicking your Airbnb Associates link to complete listing the space on Airbnb.
Payouts are paid within 60 days of a checkout of the first stay for the listings you help to bring to Airbnb. Once a host signs up, Airbnb measures when a guest makes a booking and checks in. Once the guest has checked out, you will be credited for the listing and compensated according to payment terms.
How you make money:
- Someone clicks on your content and within 28 days adds a new listing whose first booking is completed within the following 365 days
- Your payout amount, no less than $40, will be determined by geography
- Your payout will appear in your Associate account within 60 days of the checkout
- Payouts typically happen between the 10th and 20th of the month after a completed reservation, and you'll receive an email with payout details each month
Payment methods
To get paid, you’ll need to set up a payment method. If you don’t have a payment method set up, learn how to add a payment method.
To view payouts:
- Go to the earnings dashboard to view your transactions, any cancellations and gross earnings.
Find out how you can add or edit your payment method and currency so you can get paid whenever someone books or begins hosting through your content, and get answers to questions about pricing and payouts as well as taxes.
