Ethiopian Food and Coffee tour in Shepherd’s Bush
Shepherd’s Bush in West London is home to a thriving Ethiopian community, with many shops and cafés and even hair salons dedicated to Ethiopian culture. Over two and a half hours I will introduce you to my Ethiopian heritage within the historic Shepherd’s Bush Market. We will begin our adventure by meeting one of the market’s traders and sip a delicious juice known for its medicinal properties. Next, we’ll stroll through the market and visit an Ethiopian shop, where we’ll learn about the importance of coffee to Ethiopia. You’ll see the unroasted beans and special coffee pot and explore the spices specific to Ethiopian cuisine. Finally, you’ll get taste these flavours first-hand as we enjoy the highlight of this tour: a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Sharing coffee is an important tradition in Ethiopia. It’s a time for people to get together and share stories, and I will have plenty of tales to tell you as you enjoy your coffee with popcorn (a popular pairing in Ethiopia!). Ethiopia is a big part of my life. The colours, smells and community of my childhood are still with me and in me. In Ethiopia, food is everything and I can think of nothing better than sharing my culture with visitors to London.

Only then will you get close to the true essence, to the true heart, to the very fabric of the place you are in and have an experience like no other. We'll leave the famous main sights to the side and are going to peek behind the scenes of glitzy mainstream London away from the tourist areas. We'll see local communities, walk along an exotic street market and discover urban oddities. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge about London's modern urban history, about its current challenges and future developments. Also, there's a nice break at a street market where we can grab some lunch (not included in the price). I am very much looking forward to having you on my London safari. Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London, show you something to make you change your mind. Fabian Other things to note: - I may add additional tours to the calendar at short notice. - We start at 10.30h at Paddington station and finish at 16.30h near Canada Water station. - We will make extensive use of local public transport. - Please bring as little rucksacks and bags as possible on the tour.
